Have I told you lately how much I like the Writing Excuses podcast? (I can’t emphasize enough how great it is to queue up an episode and get the perspective of professionals in the industry. If you are new to the ‘cast, it’s worth the time and effort to go through the site and download past seasons.)
Disclaimer. I have all of the episodes on various electronic devices, so it’s possible to select specific episodes.
What I’m talking about here, though, is how the recent episodes themselves have happened to coincide with specific issues that I’ve got going on in my WIP. (Since the beginning of July, for example: Episodes 8.27, part of 8.29 [as mentioned before], 8.30 and 8.31.)
I think this just goes to prove that working on a project makes you more open to hearing things… or advice doesn’t “click” until you’re in a trench and can see how it can fix a problem at hand.
