The Penmonkey Gospel

One of the things that I am wont to do is check out writing blogs, or look up the web presence for authors I may be starting to discover (especially if a blog is involved). Which brings me to this entry…

One of the latest sites I have started looking at and exploring past blog entries is that of Chuck Wendig, influenced and intrigued by reading his Confessions of a Freelance Penmonkey. Over the last couple of days the book has been equal parts laugh out loud funny and heartwrenching punches to the gut. If you are at all interested in writing and working on your first milion words, I would encourage you to check it out. I’m already marking several of his recent (last three months) posts to go back to and read in earnest (and possibly comment and clip from later)…

So, yeah, check it out… but with a warning (copied from one of his posts):

Now, a warning, just in the rare instance you don’t come to this site all that often:
Here There Be Bad Words. Naughty profanity. The sinner’s tongue. Lots of “eff-this” and “ess-that.”
If you’re not a fan of profanity, no harm, no foul. But you might want to turn your tender gaze away before your eyeballs foam up and ooze out of your poor innocent head.
